Faringdon Lodge opens at Abingdon School

Just in time for schools to reopen, Faringdon Lodge, a new multi-story educational space for Abingdon School in Oxfordshire, has completed onsite.

Faringdon Lodge acts as an entrance gateway to Abingdon School, welcoming those who arrive and helping to establish the identity of the School and the values it represents. David Morley Architects worked with Abingdon School in 2018 designing facilities to expand its Sixth form services.

The distinctive red bricks are used to connect and compliment both the historic architecture of Abingdon School, and the contemporary Yang Science Centre, to which the new lodge is connected to.

The Abingdon School grounds feature a wealth of trees and greenery and the design of the Lodge seeks to capitalise on this amenity, both by addressing this landscape in its outlook, but also by formalising circulation into and around the school grounds.
