The Coal Office forms a gateway into the retail emporium of the Coal Drops Yard (which is currently under construction) and the beginning of the Wharf Road Viaduct, an elevated walkway park inspired by ‘The Highline’ in New York, connecting Granary Square and Gasholder Park, to the West and onto the playground and garden terrace of David Morley Architect’s recently completed Plimsoll Building beyond.

This sequence of spaces creates a green ribbon which runs through the heart of the development, and is core to the client’s vision of integrating landscape, gardens and planting throughout the community.
