The Fish and Coal Building shortlisted finalist at this year's Estates Gazette Awards

David Morley Architects is one of the few practices to have been shortlisted as a finalist at this year’s EG Awards, in the Creative Spaces Award category for our project, The Fish and Coal Building, Granary Square, King’s Cross.

Fish and Coal forms a gateway into the retail emporium of the Coal Drops Yard (which is currently under construction) and the beginning of the Wharf Road Viaduct, an elevated walkway park inspired by ‘The Highline’ in New York, connecting Granary Square and Gasholder Park, to the West and onto the playground and garden terrace of David Morley Architect’s recently completed Plimsoll Building beyond.

This sequence of spaces creates a green ribbon which runs through the heart of the development, and is core to the client’s vision of integrating landscape, gardens and planting throughout the community.
