06/10/11 IT Assistant

David Morley Architects are looking to recruit a hands on and proactive IT assistant to ensure the smooth running of the office PC network. They will be supporting all office based staff as well as helping staff who work remotely. The nature of the job requires a good eye for detail, the ability to multi task and an interest in IT within a creative environment.

The main responsibilities will be -

- Hardware duties will include repairing faults, organising new hardware, relocating equipment.
- Small Business Server monitoring and troubleshooting including Exchange Server monitoring and troubleshooting and Active Directory updating / adding.
- Enforce the Company's Administrative Procedure, conducting spot checks as required to ensure compliance.
- Software duties will include installing new operating systems and required programs
- Intranet duties will include updating news and adding certificates as well as improving and promoting it within the office
- Maintain positive working relationships within the office.
- Ensuring the office backups regularly checked and carried out
- Maintain positive working relationships within the office.
- Purchasing of new equipment
- LAN network maintenance

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows xp and Windows 7 is a must. Experience of Microstation, Paprika and Oasys would be a distinct advantage. Whilst we are heavy Microstation users we do have external CAD support in place for troubleshooting so that would be somewhat outside of the role.
