
David Morley

David Morley is an honorary scholar of King’s College Cambridge, graduating with First Class Honours in 1977 and winning the Richard’s Prize. He obtained the Diploma in Architecture in 1980. His student work featured in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition as well as being published in the Sunday Times. He joined Foster Associates in 1977 where he worked on the successful competition entry for the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Headquarters in Hong Kong. In 1985 he became a director and in 1986 a director of Foster France S.A.
David left to set up David Morley Architects in 1987, initially working in healthcare but gaining a reputation in sport after the Indoor School at Lord’s. The practice has grown steadily to become one of the UK’s top 100, with a reputation for simple solutions to complex briefs.
His work has been recognised with many awards and has been widely published and exhibited. David has lectured at many universities and conferences and acts as an awards and competition assessor for the Royal Institute of British Architects.
