Joe Brotherton, Architectural Assistant SQ

Joe first joined the team at David Morley Architects in 2019 having graduated with First Class (Hons) in BA Architecture from the University of Greenwich. During that time Joe returned to Greenwich where he completed his Masters qualification in Architecture with distinction. Since joining the practice, Joe has worked across a verity of sectors, including education, mental health, residential and elite sports. He has previously been part of the team which worked on the Brent Cross South Project Plays Scheme, and International Inclusive Cricket Centre at the University of Worcester.

Having returned to the practice following his Part 2 studies, Joe has continued his work within the elite sporting sector. Remaining focused on the details which count towards providing optimal facilities that enables athletes to aspire, progress and succeed. Joe is currently working towards achieve planning permission for a new training facility for Cambridge United FC, which has the challenges of a green belt site. Alongside his architectural position, Joe fulfils the role of the practice’s CPD Co-ordinator, while also being a member of the DMA People and Green groups.

Outside of architecture, Joe has an abundance of hobbies to fill his time including scuba diving, golf and is keen to start up his passion for cycling again since graduating. Following his thesis studies, Joe has developed an interest in photogrammetry and has begun to explore opportunity of using drone and photography technology as architectural tool.
